Infrared Thermal Inspections
Upon request, we are happy to also provide you with an Infrared Thermal Inspection for an additional charge. Adding an Infrared Thermal Inspection means that we can give you information about problems with the home that are not visible to the naked eye. Our FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) camera is an expensive and specialized tool that allows us to see the home in the IR spectrum. This simply means that, while we can’t see into walls, we can oftentimes see what is happening behind them.
The FLIR camera allows us to see a variety of vital home inspection deficiencies, including:
- Water leaks in walls
- Water leaks around windows
- Lack of insulation in wall and ceilings
- HVAC system leaks
- HVAC duct breaks and leaks
- HVAC condition
- Damaged wiring
- Improperly sized wiring
- Roof leaks
- Skylight leaks
- Appliance function
We can also use the FLIR infrared camera to do Home Energy Audits. Contact Us for more information about this service.
